Exhibitions Exhibitions during 2004 The release of his new book “Öar långt borta” will be on August 14 2004. Dag Peterson will be present at Ringsegården Konst & Café on August 14 and 15 signing the book. This will be a magnificent exhibition of more than 100 of his paintings, all included in the new book. The book is about fauna and nature of the Svalbard and Falkland Islands. Peterson provides us an exciting and instructive description of a vulnerable nature demanding our attention. Today, Dag Peterson is one of Sweden's most popular and appreciated wildlife artists. He was born 1939 in Varberg and is now living in the Swedish village Kinnahult in the district of Mark. As shown in his book, Dag is not only dedicated Swedish flora and fauna but also different projects abroad. His way of painting fascinates the observer and gives a fascinating impression of reality. “It is a world of its own in this book of Dag Peterson. It is a hard and severe world where few species survives the dark and cold polar nights. It is also a tremendous beautiful summer with everlasting sun, shining landscape of glaciers and shimmering sea. It is a privilege to follow this trip to the outer border of life – meeting the exotic world with whales and polar bears, walruses and seals and to meet millions of sea-birds on noisy bird-cliffs and isolated landscape of fjords.” (Jens Wahlsted, ex General Secretary of WWF).
